You cannot fully contemplate the Passion of Christ if He has not even been born in your soul before. If He has not been born in your soul, you see the Cross and the Passion but you do not see the Resurrection. If you are not born together with Him as a child – Christ talks about this exactly. You will never reach the Kingdom of Heaven if Christ our Lord is not born in you.
If you see the cross and weep over the crucified Lord and you think that is Christian faith, and in the process you do not see the resurrection, that is not faith.
If Christ is born in you and you are born again, you see the passion of Christ and you weep over Him, but this suffering is combined with tears of joy. The Lord Jesus Christ, at certain points in the Gospels, exulted in the fervor, greatness and glory of God. And you, seeing the resurrection and salvation behind the cross, should also react this way.
The cross – the tree of dishonour – is not in itself the essence of Christianity. The essence of Christianity is the resurrection. All you aspire to is resurrection. You are not striving for suffering, you are striving for salvation.
This does not mean that you will not suffer at all, but if you do suffer along the way, it does not mean suffering in the way Christ did. It is madness to expect to suffer as our Lord did. It is hubris to think that you are capable of undergoing such an ordeal.
He is imbued with love for God and for people. He is the opposite of Satan, who is imbued with hatred and contempt for man. Satan’s followers, all those who fight against God, whether they think about it or not, have Satan as their master. Only there is one problem – Satan does not so much hate people, but despises them. He cannot survive the fact that God has loved such miserable creatures. And that is why if in any way Satan assists human beings, he himself then destroys these people. He cannot bear to give anything to man and bribes him to attract him to himself. Contempt is worse than hatred. Even God does not have to react and punish man. Satan himself will destroy him for having to give him something….
At Calvary we have three crosses – the Cross of Christ, and the crosses of the good and bad villain. The bad villain – Satan speaks through him – contempt mockery anger. On the other hand, the good converted villain who repents and love for Christ is born in him. Here there is perfect sorrow. The good villain had seen the terrible torments of Christ and probably did not even understand why Christ was suffering so unjustly, but in that moment sorrow for his sins was born in him and he saw something else.
He looked at the Passion of the Lord and saw salvation – the Resurrection. This is the essence of faith. He looked horrified at what people were doing and felt sorrow. Through the cross he saw the Resurrection. This saved him and this is the essence of the Catholic faith. This essence must be in every soul.
No rites can give you salvation if you have emptiness in your soul and do not understand this.
There, among those looking at Christ crucified, were 99.9 per cent of those who obeyed their priests and fulfilled all religious practices. But so what if they understood nothing, if there was this evil villain in their souls? Their souls were crying out : release Barabbas!
This cry of the Jews : “crucify” is perhaps within the bounds of normal thinking. If they recognised that Christ had done something wrong then they wanted punishment. But then they also shout “release Barabbas” – release the murderer. In exchange for innocent blood: “His blood on us and on our children”. They side with Satan, thereby signing a pact with the devil. Let innocent blood fall on them. And this is what happened. Some say that God is punishing them. Or maybe God is not punishing them at all. Maybe He just turned around and left them with that choice, and Satan himself is destroying them – generations. That’s how they wanted it. God destroyed their temple by the hands of the Roman empire and left them. And Satan is doing his own thing.
Jesus Christ must be born in your soul and together with Him you must build your Church on the rock of your faith.
No matter where you are in your journey through life right now. Stop and find the child Jesus in your soul. And it is then, as you meditate on the Passion of the Lord, that you will see His glory and the path to your salvation, strewn with thorns, but how beautifully completed.
It is amazing how many people seek priests, communities, charismatics, some kind of apparition, and how few simply seek God in their souls.
God has left us His Mother, wanting only to lead us to His Son.
Why don’t you take advantage of this , but follow some apparition from Medjugorie, or some other strange place….
Why? …..
