Before I saw You,
before the light broke through,
I was lost in the shadows,
blind to the darkness inside me.
Led like a blind man straight into hell,
pulled by desires that tore me apart.
I tried to give my family everything—
everything I never had myself.
I didn’t know they didn’t need money.
I didn’t know what they longed for was love.
Time kept moving,
and I kept falling…
deeper and deeper
into the mire of life.
But You, O Lord, You wouldn’t let me die.
You, O Lord, You reached out Your hand,
even when all I wanted was the fight.
So don’t leave me, ever.
Remember me always.
Let me see You clearly
in my soul,
in my heart,
there will always be room for You.
Though I am only dust,
I love You,
and I need Your love—
for me,
for my family.
It’s all they need,
nothing more.
